After we moved for the fifth time, sneaking onto the train while the conductor slept, the towns started to blur together and swallow one another until they were just one Fat Town with a single post office, shitty internet, and an understaffed Happy Donuts; every Happy Donuts the same uneventful void, stuck in a psychic call-and-response with the profound emptiness of all existence; my family the same uneventful void, fleeing-and-returning to ourselves.
